Vegan Catering in Vancouver

Vegan Catering in Vancouver

Vancouver's vegan options can be as diverse as the city itself. We are passionate about good food, so Tawnshi's vegan charcuterie boards are a bold contribution to the vegan culinary scene.

Regular charcuterie boards are dominated by meat, dairy, and seafood but we have put in the work to offer an amazing vegan board that reflects modern Indigeneity. Here is a list of just some of the things we serve.

Plant-based Salmon

You have to try this vegan salmon to believe it. It is amazing in its approximation to salmon sashimi in both look and texture. Since salmon is so important to many Indigenous cultures, we were thrilled to come up with this vegan replacement.

Sea Asparagus

This salty, crunchy succulent adds spectacular flair to our boards. Served raw in a light lemon marinade, the crunch and flavour are front and centre. The young shoots are salty, like the ocean, and have a light taste like green apple peel.

Marinated Morels

Morels are wonderfully complex and delicious. They are commonly described as nutty, earthy, and slightly smoky. Foraged on the west coast, these highly prized wild mushrooms are sought after for their unique flavour profile, texture, and rarity. Our marinade imparts even more layered flavour while also capturing the morels’ fresh and tender texture.

Spruce Tips

Foraged on Vancouver Island, zesty Spruce tips are reminiscent of capers. They add a fresh burst of woodsy flavour to our vegan charcuterie boards. The tender, electric-green buds are a powerhouse of essential nutrients, rich in vitamin C, antioxidants, and natural compounds that have been traditionally valued for their medicinal properties.

Dulse (Sea Bacon)

This super food is another gift from the ocean. It is a rich source of iodine, potassium, and protein. Place a leaf on your tongue and let your saliva start to break it down. A smoky, salty, bacon-like flavour will slowly, then quickly, fill your mouth.

Traditional Plant Medicine Jams

Thickened with chia seeds or apple pectin, we have partnered with Chef Sarah Meconse Mierau to provide Indigenous nourishment to urban Indigenous and non-Indigenous health conscience people while supporting Indigenous food sovereignty, culture and community. Our favourites are her Blueberry Lavender and Camomile Pear!
